Minneapolis Half Marathon

I should be nervous for this. It's my first Half and I did a Zombie obstacle course the day before 2 hours away. For some reason though, I'm not nervous at all. One foot in front of the other as they say.

Kelly over my shoulder right after the gun. I'm really a terrible person.

Felt good going out. I ran this with Kelly but of course took off right away. Around mile 8 I really started feeling it. Bad legs, tired, probably going too fast. By 10 I'm thinking this is the last HM I ever run cause this is awful. My goal was to finish of course, and a bonus of under 2 hours. I thought I had no chance until the 8:55 pacer appeared next to me. With some not-so-quick math I realized if I stayed ahead of her I can do sub-2 hours which amped me up a bit.

Got very tough towards the end and I sprinted as I always do - leave it all on the course you know - and finished in 1:55:55. Felt pretty amazing. Not 4 hours later I texted my buddy who was registered for another half the next weekend and told him I was in.

So this is the love/hate runners talk about.
