Run For Blood 1/4 Marathon

Kind of a weird distance, why not just make it a 10K? Anyway - I signed up for this when I was signing up for everything and honestly last night and this morning I had no desire to do it - race day parking, packet pickup, waiting, etc. just doesn't feel worth it unless it's a "big" race. Plus I was alone so no one to really kill time with. Race-wise if it's less than a Marathon I've mostly lost interest at this point. That said, I guess speed work is usually a good thing.

Turned out to be a pretty good day - a little warm in the high 70s/low 80s - but can't beat running around Calhoun on a sunny day. I have no idea what my time was, I went into a dead sprint the last 1/2 mile trying to catch/pass a few people I had my eye on. I didn't quite catch the last girl who had parked in front of me and I could tell by her gear/form she was serious, so when I saw her again way up ahead of me my competitiveness kicked in. She edged me by a couple seconds, but since she started ahead of me I might've actually caught her time-wise. It'll be interesting to see what I ended at - I'd guess around 51:00 which is just eh, but we'll see. Tomorrow I plan on going long - need to start building up my back-to-backs in preparation for some upcoming events.

*Edit: Looks like I was pretty close to my guess - 51:22/7:51 pace for the 6.5.

Sure, why not.
